When You Need More Than a Quick Answer
What Happens When Your Question Goes Beyond the FAQ?
The support center and AI chat handle the most common questions well — what a PEO is, how payroll works under co-employment, what compliance support looks like, whether you need to wait until renewal to make a change. But some questions don't have a clean answer until someone understands your specific situation: your industry, your state or states, your current benefits costs, your contract terms, and your growth trajectory.
Those conversations are what our consultations are for. We've had 30 years of them. The ones that come up most often: a business that got a renewal increase they weren't expecting and wants to know if it's fair. A CFO trying to figure out whether the headline rate they were quoted actually reflects the total cost. A founder who's been told they're not big enough for a PEO — or too big — and wants a second opinion. An HR manager trying to carve out a specific service that isn't working without blowing up the rest of the arrangement.
We won't try to sell you something that doesn't fit.
If the numbers don't support a PEO for your business, we'll tell you that directly. In some cases the better path is an ASO arrangement — administrative services only, no co-employment — that fixes a specific problem without the full commitment. Use our PEO Fit Check to get an instant read on your situation before we talk.

Why Does Independent PEO Brokerage Change the Quality of Support You Receive?
When you ask a PEO representative a question about pricing, mid-contract exits, or why their benefits renewal came in higher than expected, they answer from one direction: the direction that keeps your business with their company. That is not a criticism — it is their job. But it means the information you receive is filtered through a retention interest that does not always align with yours.
Our support function is different because we have no retention interest in any specific PEO. When a client asks us whether their current provider is competitive, we run an independent comparison using current market data. When someone asks whether a PEO fee increase at renewal is justified, we tell them whether it is — and if it is not, we negotiate on their behalf or build the case for switching. That independence is the foundation of every answer we give.
If you are using the AI assistant above and want to go deeper on any answer — whether that is about how the PEO co-employment model works, how employee benefits are structured under a PEO, or what your options are if you are mid-contract and unhappy — a human conversation with our team will take that further than any FAQ can.
What Questions Does This Support Center Answer That PEOs Typically Won't?
The questions we field most often are not the ones PEOs publish FAQ pages about. They are the uncomfortable ones: "My PEO just raised my workers' compensation rate 30% at renewal — is that normal?" "I signed a three-year contract and want out — what are my options?" "I got three proposals and I don't understand why the prices are so different." These questions require honest answers from someone without a stake in which provider you choose.
We also answer operational questions that business owners encounter after signing: how to handle state-specific compliance notices that the PEO does not manage, what to do when an employee classification situation falls outside the PEO's standard workflow, and how to read the HR compliance reports your PEO provides to make sure they actually reflect your business's situation. These are the questions that distinguish post-sale support from pre-sale support.
Use the AI assistant for rapid answers — it has full context on PEO services, pricing models, compliance frameworks, and our broker process. How Do We Handle Questions About PEO Pricing, Switching, and Compliance Without Conflicts of Interest?
Our compensation model is the structural answer. We are paid by the PEO only when we successfully place a business with the right provider — and only at that point. There is no consulting retainer, no subscription, and no fee to the business at any stage. That structure means we have every incentive to give you accurate information that leads to a good long-term match, and no incentive to push you toward a provider that is wrong for your situation.
On pricing questions specifically: most PEO pricing comparisons are genuinely difficult because PEO fee structures vary between percentage-of-payroll and PEPM models, and what appears in a proposal does not always capture the full cost of the relationship. We normalize those structures when we present a comparison, so you are comparing equivalent terms. If you want to benchmark your current rate before renewal, that is a legitimate use of our service and one we do regularly.
Before your consultation, consider completing our free HR compliance assessments — they give both of us a structured picture of your compliance posture and help us match you with PEOs whose support capabilities address your specific gaps. The cybersecurity assessment is particularly useful if your current PEO's data security practices have raised questions.
